This draws on the discussions of a tobacco leaf, an oval, the curved letters and the scale. (Did I leave anybody out?)

hows this,????a scale..'' fair trade'' with some baccy in the sclae,,>
That was my first thought to using the scales or balance beam with a logo, also searched old time trading posts pics but the tobacco leaf together with logo says it all. I've been drawing blanks as far as coming up with anything better than yall have put forth. Another thing I like about Bob's design is he did a hell of a lot better job at it than I could have. Good work Bob.

Bob, I really like those 2 leaves. They get my vote for best design. You might want to copyright them before Don sees them :D

Bob, Yours gets my vote also. Looks very good. I prefer the darker one though. Either way it works. Now if a small smiley mouth like shape was put just below the smaller F and T you have the scale thing going strong as well. Works for me just the way it is though.

Daniel,
As long as the image is pretty much full-size, I think the scale pans work. Much smaller, and it all becomes cluttered.

Bob, great images. Do you thing the gold leaf with dark "Fair Trade Tobacco" letters would work?
John,
I'm sure mix-and-match would work. Stitched on a hat, the color of the curved text could be selected in response to the chosen background color, while the entire central image would be digitized to a single appearance.

Keep in mind that this is not my design. I've just assembled design elements that were suggested throughout the thread, and interpreted them with the tools at my disposal. I will, though, take full credit for creating the leaf. (I cheated.) The leaf was developed from my photo of a completely green, freshly primed CT Broadleaf. I manually removed all the background from the photo, then perverted the color, contrast and intensity levels to "cure" the leaf as desired.

Chicken, One of the beauties of Bob's design is that it CAN be sized. My model airplane club has hat and jacket sized patches. My taste leans toward embroidered hats and patches for jackets but the guys who make them don't really care. Just give them a design and tell them what you want.

Don, If you like this design you have my permission to use it freely reserving only the right to have them made for myself. I think Daniel, Bob and the others will agree.

Where the heck is the F and T ?

I probably wouldn't be alowed to ware a hat like that . My wife would not like it at all . But if you use this one please turn her around .

Right On BB ! That way we could save money on letters. We'd only need the F as we would already have the T T's.
