I have a sticky key. It feels like there is something under it and it's bugging the crap out of me. Does anyone know if I can take the key off and look under it?...or will I just make it worse?

Is there a trick to removing the key?

I have a HP ProBook 4520

You should be able to pop it out with a knife or something alike. I have to do it with mine every now and again.

Don I m not sure on that model but on most laptops there are 2 small clips under the key, they can be removed and replaced. Some keyboards have a tool for r&r. Try a can of compress air, holding can totally upright so as not to spray moisture on it. You can try turning your laptop upside down and giving it a light shaking, not to hard. Russ

Don, I got this answer off the net. You might want to try it. Hope it helps.

threre is no capacitor. It is a switch enclosed in a membrane.

They have generic instruction on replacing keys.
