I just spent the better part of the morning taking down my cured leaf. I cured it as: primed, stalk and string horse. Each stick for my string horse held 80 leaves with 3 leaves per bundle. The stick was 6 feet long. I was concerned that such a tight packing of green leaf would result in a lot of moldy leaf. I'm happy to say that there was no mold. If you prime and string on a wire I would highly recommend this method for next year. You can string 80 leaves in 10 minutes, probably less if you have someone handing you the leaf as you string.

I got about 160-170 leaves of VBL on each 8 ft long 2x2, in 3-leaf bundles, and am waiting for the midribs to dry.
I worried that it might be too much, too close spacing, but it worked OK.

LR, that is some real nice looking leaf. Mine are strung on wire and some were packed a little bit tight. So far things are curing out OK, no sign of mold. We are getting dried out now with humidity levels down to 33% yesterday and a few more days before any rain.

I tried both stringing and wire this year and the stringing was simpler and faster, I was only stringing 2 at a time with midribs back to back so my wire held more but was much more time consuming. Even the H 425 I strung unraveled with little damage at area where it was tied. Thats the only way to go for a large quantity of filler or cigarette varietys for me. Tomorrow morning and sunday will be hand tying practice again while cured leaves are workable.

Chicken, details...how much and what got ruined?

i only did, 3 sticks,,,, about 30 leaves per stick,

but i got the humidity under control. i moved everything into my camper, and heated it up, and chased the moisture away,

the loss wasnt very sustancial, but me loosing 1 leaf, is 1 leaf to many, to be losing,

i checked that horse stringing. looks nice, but yeah a better understanding of looping the string would be good. i guess trial and error.

a question though can you lay leaf on a screen, like for broken pieces, smaller leaves, and suckers (some of mine got as big as some of that turkish leaf before i saw them and very quickly too). i tried doing it a bit over the season, some of them browned and i tried them but not very good.
