The fire quickly burned 1500 acres 3 hours after I originally posted this
So 2.5 square miles in 3 hours. that was 12 hours ago god only knows what's going on now.
My boss hasn't called or emailed me since I left work yesterday he was shop bound because
the roads were closed going up to his place

We haven't had a drop of rain here in over 2 months now. It's always very dry here this time of year but we usually get a little rain during summer. Enough to rinse the dust off things once or twice. I heard today that Seattle has gone 50 days now with no rain. Now that's rare. Their record is 60. Unfortunately, forest fires are not strangers to those of us who live in the Northwest. Keep us posted Dan

I wonder if this is trickle down from the beetles that kill the trees. I heard there is tons of acres of standing dead pine out there

The evil bark beetles....they are always there, but only burrow and kill trees during a drought, looking for moisture. Bad news for forests.....

We were at 7% humidity yesterday afternoon. Lightning started 110 fires on Saturday across central and eastern Washington. We had gusty winds all day yesterday which sure didn't help the fire crews.. I am about 60 miles from the nearest fire and the smoke is so thick here this morning it looks like fog. The passing front which brought all the wind brought not one drop of rain. It's been close to 70 days now since it rained here and the 10 day forecast is for more sunny dry weather.

i aint never in my life been around a fire like that,,,

yes we have forest fires '' but thier in the forest, not near houses,

but florida does do a lot, of '' control'' burns... and plow, in '' fire lanes''

i will give the state credit on this issue,

thats a huge cloud of smoke, and i mean HUGE,.
