I was looking on craigslist and found a 3 person sauna for $75. It got me thinking....they go to 140degrees and are cedar lined, so no risk of mold or mildew. And when you aren't using it as a kiln, Sauna!!!! Now if only the guy will call me back.....

I'm thinking that cedar lining might work wonders on the leaf too. I age in the attic which is made from pine and cedar and its real tasty after spending time up there.

yep, cedar absorbs and eliminates scents, so the tobacco tastes like tobacco, and not pink panther insulation or dust or whatever else

i agree with LEVERHEAD,

that hating pad, would perhaps work for a '' cooler''

the bigger the space, the more you need to heat it up.

i thionk my kiln is the biggest of all of us,

i heat it up with 2 crock-pots

and 2 ///// 250 watt heat lamp bulbs,

but i regulate what is on and what is off, sometimes the c-pot's are the only thing running, sometimes the pot's and a bulb on,

i dont have nothing but my '' guages'' but i got them placed all over the kiln,

i can read r.h. in the far left corner. and read r.h. in the far right corner,,,

'' move the crock pot's around,''

e,t,c,

anything that hets up safely can operate a kiln,

your heating pad, may do a cooler, but a empty frig thats being thrown away is perfect,

Chicken, You got to remember you are in a warm climate. Some of us need a lot more heat just cause it's cold outside.
