One way each member can help this site is by posting a hot link to this site on another site. This should really only be done with the permission of the other sites owner or if it is allowed in the TOS. In consideration (and to make the cross link work) you should then post that web site's address as a hot link on FTT.

Your thread or post should be relevant to each site's theme. The addition of the "providing for the table" forum has opened up a lot of opportunity for cross linking similarly related to sites like hunting, curing food and even gardening.

To cross link a site, you can simply include the website address or use the hyperlink icon
images
to add the link. Different sites will have variations of this icon, but most will have some sort of chain-like symbol to represent the link.

Please keep the sites you link to relevant in some way and be sure to include supporting text with your link. Also keep in mind the potential traffic you might bring to the site. Radical fringe groups might not share the same convictions we share here.

Let me know if you need any help.

occasionally they come up in my searches, i read the post and generally check out the new activity while there. there doesnt seem to be much new activity.

so while they absolutely should delete a direct competitor website, i dont see it getting deleted THAT soon lol.

I used to be on there quite a bit, it was ok for starting out, but I've gotten 1000x more information here than I did there.

You know, That is something I really don't understand. Both sites, and others, support many of the same ideas and ideals and surely differ in others. Why aren't they supporting, indeed PROMOTING each other? There are aas many different angles on a subject as there are people working on it. So What??!! If I can't or won't help you with something I'll for sure try to point you where you can get help.

Therefore: Why don't the differing tobacco growing sites co-operate and promote each other?

How do I make the links hot on my website. I have added the links but they aren't showing up hot. My link symbol seems to be disabled.

They are very paranoid about sellin' bacco you ca'nt post a link to a site that sells bacca. or even talks about sell'in it.

Got it ,hot Links established. I needed to highlight the link to enable the link icon. I added
WLT and FTT to my site on store header and tobacco page. Noting a wide variety of whole leaf selection and home growing tobacco FAQS and forum.

The trick to cross linking is to...

1. Include relevant text associated with the link. Basically, you should write a little blurb about what the link is about.

2. Post a link to the website where you posted the other link...with relevant text. So now you need to post a link to your site (posting in this thread is fine) with a description of what your link is about.

Posting links on other sites does help, but that's not "cross linking".
