Having hornworm problems with the tobacco plants and grasshoppers. Any problems or concerns with using Sevin on them? Any advice on the spray or the dust?
What is BT? Does it have a full name? (I have a hurtful of hornworms this year.)BT is specific for Hornworms and other caterpillars, and is considerably safer than Sevin.

Thanks. I already topped most of it 360 plants, aphids not too bad but am in the middle of my single seasonal Imidacloprid/suflur-pyrethrem application, but even that might not get all the worms. I guess I'll follow up with this BT a couple weeks later. In 35 plants I found 12 hornworms, mostly still small. Never had them this bad. Possible root cause-too much nitrogen fertilizer? Maybe. Maybe not. Very fast growth. Worms mostly on Bursa, already head high, very dark green. You're digging up a bunch of very old threads.
BT is an "organic" preparation of Bacillus thuringiensis. It is harmless to everything but caterpillars.
Monterey B.T. (Bacillus Thuringiensis) Pint Concentrate Outdoor Organic Insecticide LG6332 - The Home Depot
Monterey B.T. Insecticide kills caterpillar type insects, but has no effect on birds, earthworms, or beneficial insects such as honeybees and ladybugs, when used as directed. It is for use on fruits, vegetables, ornamentals and shade trees. It can be used on edible plants up to the day of harvest.www.homedepot.com
It's available as "ready to use" or as a concentrate. I discuss it in my 2019 grow log.
