In 2001 I saw a Chinese worker, probably he was working in a coal mine because his workwear had almost become black. Whatever, I saw an unopened cigarette packet in his hand and bought it. Cigarette brand was "Chunghwa" and its taste was very interesting for me. I don't know anything about Chinese strains but I made a little search on net and learned that Chinese tobaccos are flue-cured.

Also there is only one Chinese tobacco seed in GRIN.

That is interesting I've not had much experience with Chinese tobacco either, but have noticed in "China Town" areas that the cigarettes have a unique fragrance and seem to stain the teeth and facial hair more. I wonder if their processing causes higher tar?

I found a image, but there's no tar or nicotine labels on it.

Do you think it might be the addition of cloves? I understand that is quite common in Malaysia.

I smoked one from Malaysia . A tobacco co-op man gave me some from different places he had visited from around the world . It smells strong of cloves and I took one toke and it took my breath . Well I decided to try another puff and it wAs my last one . I didn't try it again . I know it may be the Marlboro of that country .
I had the two cigs on the dash of my pickup and they smelled up te whole truck . It was a good smell but to me it was a bad smoke .

Yeah, maybe cloves... something herbal or spicy. One reason I love "China Towns" is the incredible smells coming from everywhere - restaurants, herb shops, markets, incense burning, a hint of opium every now and then.
