While fermenting the leaves in a kiln with temp and humidity control, I have two questions:

1) How long do I need to keep leaves in kiln for to remove ammonia?
2) Should leaves be hung or stacked on each other in the kiln?

Thanks in advance for your response.

i guess theres no real set time limit,

i like to keep mine in the kiln as long as possible, temps ranging at 100-120...and my humidity at about 60 %

i normally try to let it stay in there about 3 month's if possible,

i think i made a thread documenting the build of my kiln,

you'll have to look the thread up.

I've sampled my tobacco at 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks and there does seem to be something magical about 4 weeks. The leaves can be hung or stacked. With stacking though you have to be more watchful for possible mold buildup.
