When I was a child we used to live in Beyoğlu (Pera) and we used to have a lot of Greek neighbors. When the lady of the neighbor house knocks the door with ouzo flavored Greek Christmas cookies (Kourambiedes (Gr.) / Kurabiye (Tr.)) we used to get Christmas is coming

My wife doesn't cook Christmas cookies so I want to present these ones for you . Merry Christmas !

My grandmother, who grew up in Rhodes city, on the island of Rhodes (which was a mix of Turkish, Greek and Sephardic families), used to make cookies like that. I haven't tasted one of those sugar-dusted beauties in fifty years.
