I have to say this forum is a great source of knowledge. I have only been reading 5-6 hours in and barely touched on what I need to know. I will be attempting a small amount in an aquaponics system behind a tobacco shop next to a bar. If it works out well the system will contain less veggies and more tobacco next year.

Welcome to the forum cookiemeat. Check out the Tobacco Growing FAQ to get started: http://fairtradetobacco.com/links.php?ab_s=1
If you need help navigating the forum or questions about buttons here's the general FAQ: http://fairtradetobacco.com/faq.php
Add your general location in your settings because alot of our answers will depend on your location and weather conditions. It's getting close to time to start plants indoors in parts of the country, you'll want to start your seeds about 4-6 weeks before planting outside. You'll plant outside a couple weeks after your expected last frost and that can be found here by typing in your zip code: http://fairtradetobacco.com/showthread.php?781-Last-and-First-Frost-Date-When-Is-It-Really
Good luck with your grow and if you have any questions you've come to the right place.

Wouldn't that be great.....having leaf tobacco at my local farmer's market. Not in Illinois I don't think.
