here are two I carved recently actually they are my first two actually

left2.jpg
This one was my first I carved the pipe but I recycled the stem from an estate pipe that the bowl was not functional I liked the silver band and though it would look decent

left.jpg

This was my second pipe, I was focusing on the finish mostly because I didn't think there was enough shine on the first pipe also the stem on this one was pre molded but I had to cut the stem and then drill and tap the end for the tenon and also reem out the airway at the bit end I do not like the bend on the stem and am planning on trying again with a better heating device

Thanks for looking

Beautiful pipes. That poker has some killer grain. I'm just getting set up to do some pipes. Waiting on briar and materials. What style are you thinking about doing next?

Very nice pipes. I've made several but if you ever saw them I would deny their existence and tell you they were made by my 8 year old!......:(

Never fear. A whittled pipe is a treasure.

My starting point.

See the rest in the following post:

I've been smoking it for years now.

Tell ya what. If you post pics when you're done, I'll show a pic of the first one I made.

when Im done with it I will... if I dont throw it in the fireplace! In other news, a good friend of mine, who happens to be from hawaii is there visiting and I was talking to him about my plan on trying to make my own pipe.. well he promised me he would try to find a nice chunk of koa wood to bring back to try and make a couple pipes out of. since I have very little faith in myself, once I get said wood, I was hoping I could find someone on here to make me one out of the wood and they could keep the rest and make a couple for themselves as payment. We'll see :)

Oh I grew up there that's some valuable wood. I think the dept of ag will go a little batshit if he cuts to get the wood tho, so step lightly or be careful wrapping it for the plane.
