Hi, I just discovered this site today but It seems like a great place to gain info for improving my own skills. I've always loved the scent of a good cigar since my great-grand father smoked them all the time when I was little. So now I guess you could say I'm following the same path. I've already got a year's experience growing it and it came out great far as I can tell. But now I'm looking for details on aging and some other stuff.

Greetings littlechikchic, [I'm more a jack of all trades and master at none, especialy tobacco.] There are plenty of masters to learn from on this site if you pay attention and follow their advice. Dig in and start reading and Good luck. Don't be shy about asking questions.

Welcome. a great place to start is the "Tobacco FAQ's" on the toolbar, top of page. If you'll add a general location to your profile we can better answer any questions you may have. Alot of our answers will depend on where you live and what your weather is like.

Welcome to the forum. I am also from Europe and hardly waiting for second season. Lots of reading this winter.

Thanks everyone. I've already gotten useful info from some of your past posts. Should thoroughly eliminate much of the guessing I did in the previous year.

Our weather can be kind of unpredictable. Winter is practically bipolar here. Fortunately summer is much more stable.

The weather down South has been pretty freaky the past several years. I'm about 90 miles from Chattanooga so we're pretty close. Winter has been crazy. There are no spring showers anymore, just flash flood thunderstorms. Summer droughts. We're in an unusual weather cycle for sure.
