Uploading your Avatar

The program will automatically reduce your picture to fit into the avatar perimeters. If you upload a picture that is 300 x 300 psi, you will get an error message, but just ignore it. Your picture will appear as your avatar. I tested the program a few times and it works fine.

I treid to edit my Avatar but it will not let me. The don't use avatar is checked and it will not change.

Yeah,, it is a little confusing at first. There is an option under that button "use custom avatar" (in a different template). Click on that one and the other one turns off.

Settings fixed. Let me know if it still doesn't work.

BTW, the biggest picture I tried to upload as an avatar was 300 x 300 and the program re-sized it to fit the 120 x 120 limit. I don't know what would happen if you tried loading a 800 x600. I would think the larger pictures would just be a blur if reduced to 120 x 120, but I don't know.

Mine was 640 x 480.

It was reduced by 84% (roughly). You should have a 120 x 120 allowance, so it appears as if your setting are at 100 x 100. I'll see if I can change that.

You're now at 120 x 90, so....

120/640 and 90/480 = -81.25%. The image was reduced less and filled the width, but not the height.

The program reduces the size of the image proportionately. To get a 120 x 120 avatar, you have to start with and an image of equal height and width.

Mine was 1280X960. Resizing smaller is not a problem. when you go from smaller to larger you loose image quality. The problem with going from larger to smaller is that the subjects in you picture may be to small to be visible. you could end up with one of those random effects that makes it hard to see what the picture even is sort of thing. But the image quality should actually get better by making it smaller.
