PlantTeacher, My comment was not directed to you. It was directed at any researcher that posits a new theory. For instance, back in the '90's researchers said they discovered nicotine in mummies.
.

Yea, prove it, or better yet lets contradict without proof because we can, and leave burden on whosoever to substantiate.[wrong] I hope my wife reads this. Columbus discovered america and the wright brothers made first flight. I smoked the first cigar in past life,[no photo evidence] I just can't remember!!

The mummy of Ramses III- 1300 BC was stuffed with tobacco leaves. His tissues were found to contain significant levels of nicotine, cocaine and cannabis.

I googled these sentences and your thread (this one) came up in first place in three different search engines. Almost all other hits were conspiracy type site except one that debunked the statement by revealing during the Victoria era, fake mummies were stuffed with tobacco. But there was another site called "Above Top Secret" that I got a chuckle out of...what is "above top secret"?...over the top?

I once knew a guy who argued that the pyramids were once clad in gold. His evidence was "my friend knows more than you". Not even I can debate that :)

Thanks, Johnlee

Fair enough, Jitterbugdude. I wasn't taking it personally at all. And I do acknowledge that a lot may be read into a short sentence when an individual is not aware of the spirit in which something is written. (Person A compliments person B who then gets very angry with person A for what is somehow perceived as an insult.) There were certainly a lot of such hoaxes in that time. People were buried with bells they could ring if they were still alive.

Knucklehead, you also recognize at least that the possibilities lie either way.

BarG, lol.

FmGrowit, I've never read anything on Above Top Secret, so I can't say anything about that except that I would consider it a point of reference for our conversation. And you're right, "my friend knows more than you" is an reckless statement to make.

LOL. Hey Teach, I'm totally ignorant of both sides of the argument. I just wanted some of both sides!! I can argue either way.
