Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead. However

you guys are going to love this. with a lot of searching I found a place where you can download an old book (WW Garner, The production of tobacco) that can tell you a lot of information. it may be old, but a lot of it still applies. there is a section on the effects of topping and suckering. this is the link to where the book is hosted:

My honeymoon was in Cuba. Staff at the cigar factory had a fantastic side line in cigars "don't buy them at the factory shop, I'll sell them to you at the end of the tour, just hide them so no one else sees"

Many of us have our own mini seedbanks. Storage method information would be wonderful.

I keep mine in the fridge. They seem to last longer.

Go to archive.org. Search for "Garner tobacco". There's a bunch of stuff. Another wonderful source is J.B. Killebrew. All free for downloading in multiple formats.
