Hello my friend and wellcome! Another greek here!
Those white things doesn't seem like insects to me, it looks more like dirt from soil mix.
Anyway, if you spray them with a mix of water, two spoons of dish soap (AVA) and a spoon of pure alcohol, they will be fine.
How many plants are you growing?

Hello my friend and wellcome! Another greek here!

Καλημέρα πατριώτη.
Ξεκίνησα με 100 αλλά θα καταλήξω στα 25-30.
I've made many mistakes on watering and soil selection. The next time I'll be more careful. For sure I'll spray them with that soapy insecticide.2013.jpg
The photo was taken on late April.I should have started earlier.I'm learning.
Γεια χαρά.

I got those on some of mine. They weren't a problem.
Little white looking things don't hardly move?
And by the way welcome to FTT. Even on the aphid problem my ladybugs have been sucking the juice out of them. Weird huh.

I used BT in my starting flats to get rid of the gnats. Worked good too. Tobacco is a broadleaf plant and I think to many applications of a soap can cause problems. I had them with Safer brand insecticidal soap using in violation of their suggested useage plan of doing no more than 3 times in 2 weeks.

I'm from Lamia but now I live in my wife's island, Santorini.Difficult place to grow tobacco with all the wind and the rocky soil. This is my second year of growing after last year's production of ...10 plants!

I was trying to get rid of the few aphids I had on mine at first but then didnt notice them doing any damage to growing of plant (there was inly 10 per plant max) but I imagine it you had them as bad as hoss it might be a different issue? ?

Welcome, Do you have any plants around your yard with a black colored mildew on the leaves? They look like white flies from the pictures. If you have a plant with sooty mold (the black mildew on the leaves) that's the culprit. I have crape myrtle bushes in my front yard and every year I have to treat them with orthenex to kill the white flies, but don't spray that on your tobacco as it is poison.
