the stuff on the frameulator are the wilted mudlugs, and the leaf hanging in the barn are primed leaves that ripened a bit on the plants. The plants are still growing.

The barn is very typical of the barns used by the commercial growers here, I wonder if we are just blessed with good air curing conditions. I will however print the picture and show it to the county agent next Sunday and get back to you. The folks around here still grow burley the same way they did 150 years ago. After watching the video of the mechanized harvesting and conex box curing I have to wonder how the local boys can compete.

My brother and I cut and housed the bacca Sunday. But for the use of the wife's girly truck (instead of wagon) we did it the traditional way.

Here is my first attempt at an old fashioned tobacco hand. This is how grandpa used to sell it. I made it with the mudlugs from the curing contraption.
