Been thinking about the sassafras log routine for chew for some time. Well I just found on CL that there is someone local to me that just cut down a mango tree and is offering all the logs. Was wondering what is the consensus on hollowing out a mango log, stuffing it with chew, and packing it away for some time.
I know y'all are going to say for me to give it a try, but perhaps some of y'all can tell me if mango logs give off its essence like that of hickory, maple, etc.

If you're like me, experiment away!!!
On the other hand I have no desire to stuff my hard earned tobacco into a piece of wood. They would have used crock pots and mason jars a couple of hundred years ago if they had them.
