I am in the process of making up some forms, in anticipation of seeds arriving and growing out and having to use them.

is there a relationship between length and width of the said cigars. I have smoked short thin ones, long fat ones etc. the forms will be 5" long and will have the extra inch for cut off etc. looking for 4-4.5" cigars could be 5 inch if that is a better ratio and I haven't settled on a width yet was thinking 3/4 in. 1/2 in seems too thin although I do like a villager short in a 4" 1/2 dia.

Some help please. I'm looking for ease of rolling and burning quality, I have made cigar type things in the past and they looked lopsided but smoked ok. These were done with ciggy types and lacked the flavour you would associate with a naught cigar. I often smoke Romeo Juliet's a 6" x 3/4 and find them to be an acceptable width. Years ago a mate came back from a tour in Cambodia and gave me a few, I mean a lot of Colombians. No quarantine or declaration on UN troops. These were 10 inches long and near a full inch wide. I never kept a label. They were some of the best I ever had, smoked them for 5 plus years on special occasions and sometimes just for the hell of it. A very smooth lower nico smoke, I would smoke one over a day or so.

thanks.

Bloody beauty, you hit the nail on the head.

thankyou, all I will ever need in the one chart. That is more information than I ever expected but what will I expect from the cutting edge home growers I was told about here.

i would not have thaught there were so many classified types of cigar, you learn something every day.

cheers

Well done Ben! It's hard to ad anything to that but, here ya go ...

Take your inch measure and divide by 0.015625 get your ring gauge.

0.75 ÷ 0.015625 = 48 ring gauge.

Or if you are decimally challenged, Ring Gauge = 64ths of an inch; so a 3/4 cigar is 48 Ring.
