I have seen a list of named cigar types that list length and ring gauge, for blending it would be useful to know about how much each one weighs, so if I want a Corona for example, I can start with the right amount of Bacca to make the size. Anyone seen or have this info?

You got a little production line going on there, looks good tho. Tell use how they smoke when you light one up?

i will update with how they smoke.

First time i have made a "batch". Starting with weighed lots of filler made for nice uniform results in size and appearance (no mold). Started a recipe list too, the other benefit will be being able to repeat the blend.

Since it has been cold in the evenings and I don't smoke indoors I have not tried one yet; I like a cigar when I can sit and enjoy it. I did give a few to friends for Christmas and their reviews have been favorable. One said it was very close to his favorite $15 Dominican cigar. The other two said they would llike another. So here is the blend used:

2g Dominican Ligero
2g Dominican Seco
2g Honduran Viso
2g VA Lemon Flue Cure
(above all from WLT)
3g Silver River (my grow)
Wrapper & Binder of Lonnie's Havannah (my grow)

Bama, I can't find Honduran leaf on WLT. Could it be the Nicaraguan?

Sorry to dig up an old thread but what was the verdict on these? How was the VA lemon flue cure in the cigar?

Do you still use the weighting method for the amount of leaf and does it help with consistency?

An interesting approach. Thanks!

I am not a big cigar smoker, so I can't even begin to appreciate fine nuances of flavor like some of you guys.

This was done from a newbie roller standpoint. I wanted consistent flavor, which I got; and consistent size; which I also got. Since leaf can vary so much in size and thickness/weight I figured this was the only way to get 12 cigars that looked and tasted the same. Blends based on 1/2 leaf this and full leaf that meant nothing to me (were your leaves bigger or smaller than mine?). If I start with piles of equal weight, and roll to equal size, draw should be consistent too...... Thus was my thinking, and it worked. Prior to this, I had rolled maybe 5 cigars in my life.

I now find myself enjoying that each one haphazardly rolled has its own character.

If I smoked more cigars, I would record by weight the amount of each leaf type whenever I tried something new. That way I could duplicate it in a consistent "batch" if it turned out to be something special..

The lemon was not really noticeable, very subdued, except I feel it smoothed/sweetened slightly, which was what I wanted; full cigar flavor but smooth and without harshness.

Brilliant idea. May give this a try for fun. The scale could possibly be good for measuring the rh a fresh rolled cigar as it drys out before placing in the humidor.

I do the same thing. I figure my humidor is like a box of chocolates.

Thanks for the reply!
