This may sound a bit strange but I have been a console gamer for a lot of my life, ok im getting a bit old for it all know and the reactions are not what they used to be but I still enjoy a game or two on my console, I really use it as a social platform now it’s nice to settle down with a pint of beer and a *** (ops sorry doesn’t mean what you think in the UK) and just have a good old chin wag with friends.

I was just wondering if anyone else had the guts to own up to being on xbox live, maybe we could join up and have a chat, the more the merrier, its funny after getting over the voodoo felling of folks from around the world chatting in your ear how much fun just talking crap can be.

Sadly I no longer have my Xbox, just never had time to play it after the kids were born. But used to love playing COD and having a laugh in the evening. Guess it gets you away from the rat race for an hour or two.
Will get one again when the kids are older, I'll show them how it's meant to be done lol.

Yep I couldn’t agree more Darren it gets you out of the rat race for a few hours and it allows me to talk to friends from around the world for free, folks I wouldn’t normally see down the pub and chat about Tobacco and stuff, I suppose what with all the new social interfaces now days it’s a bit old hat but hay ho.

( I’ll show them how its meant to be done) yep I tried that one once with my 19 year old son and got my ass well and truly kicked wont be doing that again lol.

Kucks you can play pool on there but its not the same lacks that bar room brawl fell lol.

Is the Xbox the console of choice for gaming now? I used to play Nintendo football and race cars back when it was two dimensional and no internet capabilities. I guess things have really changed now.

I like skiing. Sometimes during skiing week I played flipper but that's it. Only game I have ever played on computer was Captain Claw. About 15 years ago.
Also remember Arcadia games in some mini casinos when I was young.
Oh yes and I remember my first Sinclair Spectrum 16 and than 48kB. That was before Commodore. There I played a few.

I would say in my opinion yes, although some would say playstation, with xbox being a fully operational media centre, games machine and Internet friendly unit you can voice chat, game and surf the web all at once which makes it a nice little distraction from everyday life I suppose.
