Recently I made some cavendish tobacco using the colander over the pot method. I like the way it mellows the baccy but when it comes to pipe tobacco, I like the aromatics. I've used a lot of Essential Oils for my bees and personal use but I thought I would try it for a flavouring in the pipe tobacco.

I've used clove oil with ground whole cloves to make clove cigarettes and they are fantastic and taste just like the djarum cigs. So I thought I'd try my hand at making a flavour for the pipe tobacco with other EO's. I like earl grey tea and particular to the earl grey cream which has lavender in it. So I made up a case with a drop each of bergamot and lavender into a 1/4 teaspoon of glyserine and a 1/4 cup of vodka and 1/2 teaspoon of invert sugar and added that to 100 grams of my cavendish and put in a press for 3 weeks. I tried some after cutting and drying it and what an awsome flavour. It truly tastes like earl grey. It is rather strong in flavour and will benefit being blended.

This was an experiement and I will try some more as I get more EO's.
