Upper shelf containing 8 rare strains of Rustica

Lower shelf consists of 8 different strains of Tabacum.

Hi all of you growers , this year I'll try to simplify it a bit compared with last year where I had about 10-15 plants in the place of one !
So , that became more like baccybushes instead of '' a plant'' .
I have 2 allotments of a 100 sqmeters each and will grow around a 100 plants on each lot , one with tabacums and one with rusticas.
Dark Brasilian
Kentucky Brown
Kentucky Burley
Virginia Gold
Hacienda Del Cura
Madole ( from JBD)
Michigan Burley
Burley

That would be the Tabacums

GC 1
4399
Stalingradskaia
C 39-193
1000 year old Tobacco
TW 117
Brasilia 23
Sorotooskaia

And they are my Rusticas , all the baccy is to be turned into snus ofcourse and I might use the rusticas making one type of snus and keep the different tabacums apart and make one or more from every strain.
They are all sown in simple 20 cl cups/mugs where I made a few holes in the bottom and the trays are from minced meat or pork chops.
Let'em suck whenever they want since I water the tray , not the cup.
Got some around 200 plants goin' on and the first one's have started to sprout.

Hey Big Brother and thanks for your blessings.
Gonna be exciting to see if that chickenmanure can me some goodsized leafs and I will absolutlely use clover, grassclippings and P as in Peter to boost the nitrogenlevels in the waterbarrels on top of the manure.

Thanks a lot for the encouragement guys.
I bike out to my 2 lots every day now ( 10 km roundtrip) and drill a few holes each time , am starting to run out of manure but will hopefully get more on Wendsday next week.
Thinking I might have room for some 8 plants of Dominican Republic Cigar Olor aswell.....from JBD
The waterbarrels are Upside down you turn me by Diana Ross from 1980 ;)

My best sprout/germination so far is the first one I sowed and that is a Rustica called GC 1 from India , second best is Brasil Dunkel and the 1000 year old Tobacco from Salt Spring Seeds in Canada.
The other one's are slowly coming along , the only one of the first I sowed which seems to have some difficulties to germinate is Hacienda Del Cura.
An old friend of mine is supplying me with cowmanure on Wednsday and another guy comes with 4 bags ( 50 Liters in each bag )with more chickenmanure also on Wednsday.
The other lot I have , the one with the conrete plates , I drilled most of it last year in August , those holes are stuffed with grassclippings , clover , nettels , fern and dandelion leaves.

http://fairtradetobacco.com/threads...our-take-on-them?p=66288&highlight=#post66288 , pictures from last year with green organic materia in 3 feet deep holes.
My thinking is this , the nutrition is deep down below the surface and I hope the roots will seek their way down there to get fed , hopefully resulting in enormeous leafs of 1 M long and 0,5 M wide......:D
The last few weeks has ended up with me having 2 flat tires and one explosion of the inner tube ( yesterday ) , the front tires I can fix but rear tire is overcourse.
I didn't grow any baccy in that lot last year , I just sort of prepared it for this years grow.

I bought my Hacienda del Cura seed on ebay from a seller in Spain. It was very slow to germinate, but when it got going the germination percentage seemed pretty high. Don't give up on it yet.

I am growing two Rusticas this year and was surprised at how early you could tell them from the N. Tabacums. The leaves seem more rounded on the ends and the leaves appear extremely thick from day one. They also germinated first and are growing faster than the N. Tabacums. Interesting little plants.

I am also growing N. amplexicaulis. The seedlings have a Rustica appearance with the thick, rounded leaves.

I'm impressed with your rusticas. Please bag them. I'm interested in those seeds.
BTW good luck and good wether for this season. All the best.

Hi Maks , yeah I think it can very well be the same variety that I have , It has actually started sprouting a little bit today.
I'll try to let one of each Rustica that I have go to bloom , my idea in general was to top every one of them but I'll try to do it for you.
Good Luck to your season as well Maks !
Talk to you later on.
