First go to wally world and pick up 3 10 gal plastic tubs for $4 a piece, then to a hardware store to get a small spigot to put in the bottom bin to drain liquid out if necessary or you could make a hole and have a catch pan.then drill a whole bunch of holes that are big enough for the worms to pass through in 2 tubs leaving one tub to catch drainage.place empty soup cans or bricks or whatever you like in the bottom if the worms get in the bottom they will want to go back up to the food, they will need to climb on.place manure, kitchen scraps, dirt, and shredded paper and a handful of sand in a bin with holes in it(do not put potatoe peels in bin they will grow) place worms in bin with their food and put on lid.place bin in the shade so they will not cook.when they are about done with the food in the bin place more food in another bin and set it on top of first they will migrate to the next bin leaving you with excellent plant food.to make tea from the worm castings make a tea bag with bud bag place in a five gallon bucket with 2 tablespoons molasses and a aquarium aerator with 2 stones and let brew for 24 hrs dilute with 50% water and spray on plants. Buy your worms from Uncle Jims worm farm they'll arrive alive and hungry.hope this is useful thanks, Greg

Greg, When You explained this set up to Me- I did not understand the seperation of the worms and useable ferts left over till now. The migration of the worms to the next bin make perfect sense now that You shown the pics. Thanks for the class. Mad-

Very cool set up. I have been growing red wigglers years. I have a giant freezer (3'x3'x6') that I just put food scraps and left over yard scraps to feed the worms. I have a trey will a screened floor I set with food in the freezer to harvest the worms. Worm casting tea is one of my secrets to my garden growing so good.

Finally got mine made. Had worms left over from a fishing trip with my nephew. The bottom bucket has a little ice in it and I put a frozen piece of cardboard on top of the bedding. We are hitting the high 90's here in Texas.
