Has anyone tried using a deli slicer to cut pressed tobacco? I'm thinking that it might be a very good way to go about it, and I'm also thinking that I can't be the first person to think of this.

Any experience with this idea?

I've seen it here.....somewhere, I tried searching it and can't find it. I think it was one of the European guys, cutting pipe tobacco from a brick.

Some guy had a machine that was absolutely gorgeous that was made to cut pressed tobacco. Did an amazing job too. Think he wanted like 2k for them.

Don't think he had any bites, but nice machine.

I use a pair of garden shears the kind that has the flat blade that meets an anvil. Will do a 1" piece easy and cost like 8 bucks.

I seem to recall some comments about the blade of a meat slicer gumming up easily.

OK, great, that is helpful, Bob. I can see that happening. It's probably why the manufacturers use a guillotine-type slicer.
