Judging from the beat-up edges of the individual molds, those look much older than the slick cigar box imprints that have been added. I don't think Quintero cigars have been around for long enough to account for the mold wear. Looks like antique "embellishment".

I'm pretty sure those molds are new, but each side is cut from a single piece of wood. All of the tear-out is likely caused by a dull or wrong cutter head on a CNC mill.

I'm pretty sure these molds were made exclusively to ship finished cigars in, so the ring gauge is anyone's guess.

You can see by the simulated aging applied to all three examples, these are new. My guess is they are production pieces made overseas either made to intentionally deceive as antiques or made as rustic packaging

I'm thinking your right on track Don.
I bought a Montecristo White mold like this and, the branding on these type of molds scream Altadis USA because there all General cigar brands.
I like the idea that their used for shipping or even better, displaying finished cigars in them.

This is what I know. They are .90 inch wide and .93 inch tall in the cavity. An oval.
When closed, the head area inside does not line up evenly. See photo.
It sits well with the upper half at a 90 degree to the bottom with the nipple part inserted into it's mating area. As if it was designed to display with cigars in it.
I think it's poplar or something and, as you can tell the finish is faux.

There was a lady that was told it was a Cuban antique. She was trying to sell it for $100.
I have a feeling she was misled. I told her I would relay correct information to her. I have not been able to find any info on anything.

Thank you all.

These (shown on this thread) cigar molds are the "Home Interiors" of cigar decoration...overpriced and cheaply made (that does look to be pine to me too) home decor! (IMHO!)

Genuine cigar molds imported directly from the Dominican Republic

These molds are really nice. $90 ea. I'll have them listed on the whole leaf site in a little while.

Look well made.

Maybe check with a local trophy/award shop, many have laser engravers; cost to have the WLT logo "burned/etched" in to the tops would be minimal and add a touch of class/professional finish as well as establish "branding" for you. A modest price increase would be worth it, IMHO.
