I made this over a year ago to try out. Now I use it half the time or when I want to make loose filler cigars. It is designed from a cigarette roller I have called a V-master which rolls a 14" long cigarette to be cut into 4 kings or 5 regulars. My roller is just made out of some scrap wood, dowel, wood drawer knobs, wood screws and a piece of plexiglass I had lying around. I threw it together in an afternoon so the "craftsmanship" is on the low end.

Damn, Matty, that's nice. Is there any way you can get some video? What is the clear flexible "fabric"?

I dunno about a video, my computer is also my cel phone. It works just like an old time cigarette roller. The flexible opaque plastic is just some sort of non-adhesive drawer liner I got at the dollar store. I want to make one out of stainless steel one day, just have to get ambitionated to do it lol. Anyone want to build one like it or use the idea, design concept etc. feel free to do so!

That looks nice. It looks like you've got it adjustable with that small dowel rod?

Nah, no adjustment, but, because of the plexiglass's ability to flex it will roll from about 32 ring to about 48 ring. If i want them smaller I just push on the belt from the top to add some tension. It works well enough for me.

Here is a short demo using the roller on a Sabroso Medio.

Make the bunch by hand as usual.
Stuff it into the roller.
Add a binder (double binder in the pic, it was full of holes but the roller will roll almost anything successfully, even near dry binder leaf).
Roll it up! (Or down in this case).

All is needed now is a trim and a wrapper.

With a roller you can use up loose filler, shredded tobacco, roll with near dry filler/binder, binder can have holes and can also be in pieces if the leaf isn't big enough. Also, if it doesn't roll tight enough, throw it back into the roller and give it another roll to tighten it.
Despite how it makes rolling a bit easier I still like to roll by hand, mostly.

I'm fixin' to give ceegar rolling a try. Nuthin' fancy, just want to get away from buying the papers... kinda pricey for the likes of me!

Very nice building Matty. If you put your tobacco leaves entubado or semi-entubado in the buncher, I can't see why cigars made this way should be inferior made as hand rolled. What do you think ?

Jan.

It does a fine job rolling, I just like the feel of rolling by hand. Something else is that a roller can't roll figurados, well, mine can do a perfecto if I force it.

I'd like to try to emulate this build, but I feel like I am missing something from the pictures.
How exactly is the flexible material flowing. Example like when you are trying to replace a serpentine belt belt, and there is a diagram on where it weaves in and out.
I've stared at the pictures numerous times, and I guess I'm just to thick to suss it out.

Any input is appreciated.
