The overall size hasn't changed. The fan exhaust is reconfigured. The cutter head is smaller. The infrared eye is gone (YAY!), so when you turn the switch to the on position, the machine turns on...revolutionary. The reverse position has to manually be held in place...it does not stay in the reverse position simply be switching it on.
The shred size has not changed.
The motor didn't show any sign of bogging down when the tobacco was fed into the chute.
