What Is The Absolute Longest A Flake/Plug Can Be Pressed Before It Is Ruined?

What do you classify as fairly dry? I bring my leaf into medium-high case and then layer and press. I don't want a water block that requires two days of drying if I decide to cut a flake off like so many of the commercial blends.

According to clarification in this thread, the tobacco was low case, nearly medium. I sprayed lightly between layers, not directly on the tobacco, but horizontal to it, letting a small amount of the solution land on the tobacco. Now, it is in medium-high case. Should be about right. The trace of lime oil will make or break this plug. I have a good(wishful thinking) feeling about it though. Checked the tension today, and tightened it up a bit. I'm making sure to keep it tight until I take it out.
