Hi guys, this is my first question here, so please be nice to the new guy! I've been a cigar smoker for years, and I know what I like... I prefer full-flavor, strong, Nicaraguan cigars... That being said, I noticed that "Whole Leaf" doesn't offer Nicaraguan Ligero, and I'm afraid I won't be able to make a cigar I really enjoy without it. Can any of you guys recommend a Ligero that I could use as a substitute that will give the same or similar strength and taste qualities? Thanks!

I thought Don sold Nicaraguan Habano Ligero, perhaps its just out of stock (or I'm mistaken). The Viso is plenty potent for me. Is there still Aleman ligero?

Re: First rookie question...

Try adding a leaf this Ligero:

And a leaf of this filler:

To your choice of Seco, Viso, Binder, & Wrapper. I promise you will have a full flavor cigar. You may not even need any Viso.

Post #9 gives the blends of some cigars I sent to "webmost" and post #14 is his review of blend #1.

I am not a fan of the strong Nic. cigars so I am working on dialing this blend back a bit without killing the flavor.

Hope this helps a little.

Re: First rookie question...

The viso leaf is from a stalk position between seco and ligero. The Nicaraguan Habano viso that I've used (I've gone through nearly 10 pounds of it) has been potent enough to make two whole viso leaves in a large cigar a head spinner. The Nicaraguan Habano ligero that I've tried was just too strong to allow for simple blending.
