Very nice! Most deer near me are what we call dog deer they are tiny<75. You have to go west of ft worth to get the bigger ones.

Looking good BarG,
been slim season around here so far, just a doe and a 7 pt.

2 deer go a long way to filling a freezer though Indianjoe. Especially with all those catfish you add to it. I will go fishing in 2 weeks and may have some luck. My deer season is over but hog season last year round.

Made some venision jerky today, My kid said It tastes like Glazed Donuts.
Sweet and Spicy. Then I had some. I be dammed it does. Spicy glazed donuts.
I used a bunch of honey in the concoction and let the venison marinate in it for two days.
I also heated the marinade to melt the brown sugar in then cooled it before adding meat.
Anyone every have this happen.
I bet it would get me out of a speeding ticket.

I found it on line and changed it a little bit.
It does around three + pounds of meat.
3/4 cup teriyaki sauce
3/4 cup whorcestershire sauce
1 1/4 cups Pineapple Juice, I used canned pineapple and stole the juice. The kids ate the pineapple.
1 1/2 cups soy sauce
2/3 cup balsamic Vinegar
1 1/2 cup brown suger
3/4 cup honey
3 tbs onion powder
1 1/2 tbs red pepper
1 1/2 tbs black pepper cracked
4 cloves garlic smashed
Put it all in sauce pan and heat until honey and brown sugar dissolve then cool.
Add meat and let set in frig for a day or two.
If using a dehydrator you will need to add smoke flavoring.
I know nothing about smoking meat, But learning slowy.
BarG is the man for that.

I]m thawing a roast now and I am going to try this recipe . I will use jitterbugdude as my taste tester It sounds good , but do you think it would do alright without the teriaki and soy? I am not fond of that.
