Might want to be careful about the sample cigarettes...I totally agree with the appeal of the concept, but am concerned with the legal issues...get them to process, roll and smoke, with you as their instructor???

As long as you don't do any on-the-spot manufacturing of any leaf for samples, you'll be fine.

The RYO shops in NYC have been hit hard by the law . Same here in CT. You want to take care, know and follow the letter of the law (if not the spirit.) I don't think any jail time has been served but the shops were shut down (on tax evasion charges).

It's all about the revenuers. My State has one of the higher t'baccy taxes in the area so of course, what's left of the free market tries to find a work around. The result of that is that black market cigs in particular have become a bigger and bigger attractant to "criminals" who don't wanna pay $10 a pack - or whateverthehell they are now. So now our tax dollars are spent guarding our illegal alien friendly borders not from tuberculosis carrying third worlder's, but rather real criminals, like folks coming back from grandma's with a couple of cartons of non-taxed contraband. Legally we are expected to mail a check somehow to make sure that the State gets their cut of the t'baccy tax, so they can hire more poe-lease to catch more cig' taxes, to hire more poe-lease, to catch ... well clearly this ends with half of us in jail and the other half guarding us. Can't wait.Don't know about other States but here in Md. they have one tax rate for cigarette related and something completely different for pipe t'baccy, so folks have taken to rolling their own using pipe t'baccy (just under $20 a pound).Chicken, for what it's worth, I think your idea is fantastic. Should we send you cigarettes or do you just want cash deposits in your commissary account (I don't think they even let you smoke in jail anymore)?

They HAVE to let you smoke in jail ! That would be "cruel and unusual" punishment. It's the guards who aren't allowed.

i have enough plants going this year,,, i am going to do it,
if i dont sell a lot there, at least i'll pass my phone # to a lot of future buyeers,,
im gonna seel it at my yard, and make a sign for the front of the road, and possiblly try my hand at selling seeds, to those that buy the baccy,,
result's will be posted around december, maybe earlier,
but it is a venture im gonna explore. and if it does good, i may till all my land up, and sell the lawn mower,,,,lol

Can ya grow locust tree's? Might wanna consider going converting a truck to wood gas and putting in a few acres of trees for chipping. Was reading about a guy (latest Mother Earth News I think) that was saving something like $4,000 a year. How much baccy you gotta sell to be able to pay for $4000 worth of gasoline?
