So, as some of you have read, I have acquired access to a retired cigar factory owner who is willing to sell me some of his stored equipment.

Here is one, or should I say three of the gems I dug out of his storage.

I would prefer to sell them to people who will use them for cigar making and NOT hang them on the wall with beads dangling from them!

I'm looking for $80 each which includes shipping in the US.

Re: 3 36 x 5 Torpedo Moulds for sale

Beautiful little torpedo molds. Surely worth the price, for those who roll batches of cigars. I've corrected the thread title, but can't fix that in the two replies.

I thought they were Perfecto molds.

Yep, they are Perfectos... My goof and of course I noticed it now after I look like even more of a noobie than I really am! Which is a four week old cigar rolling noobie!

I've always considered perfecto and torpedo to be interchangeable. Times have changed, and so will the title.

My ignorance.

36 RG? 0.56 inch? they look thicker then that. More like 48 RG 0.75 inch? I thought the mold was 36 inches long?

...???

MarcL, if the mold was 36 inches long, knock off two inches for the ends and four inches for the spaces between and divide by 20, that would make the cigar width about one and a half inches. I can't believe that would be a 36 inch ring gauge, more like you said, about 48 ring gauge. Maybe, BAGraphics could measure it and confirm the size.

Re: 3 36 x 5 Perfecto Moulds for sale

General point of interest: Ring gauge is the diameter measured in 64th's of an inch.
1/2" = 32/64" = 32 ring gauge. 1" = 64/64 = 64 ring gauge. 50/64" = 50 ring gauge, 36/64" = 36 ring gauge, etc.

Most molds have the ring gauge stamped on the side somewhere.

Re: 3 36 x 5 Perfecto Moulds for sale

Allow me to be crude. I enlarged the image of the mold so that each cigar is 5" long. By my crude measurement, each cigar is ~3/4" wide (3/4" diameter= 48 ring)

At the very least, I can say that it's much wider than 36 ring, assuming the cigar length is 5". That's a nice size--a perfect perfecto.

From that angle it looks more like a Petite Bouquet than a Presidente... could just be a question of parallax....

Thanks all. Well I did a little research into why I was thinking it was a 36rg. Ends up technology is at fault. I have a ring gauge app for my iPhone. When I first got the app it was on an iPhone 4 with a small screen. I now have it on my iPhone 6plus. The app works by a slider expanding a "ring" on the screen that you put the foot of the cigar on, unlit, that tells you the size. Problem is, the entire screen scaled up for the new screen size of the large phone! So my gauge say 36 solid and I didn't think twice about the scaling.

Thanks everyone one for the help.

So...... I have three 48 gauge x 5 inch taperd moulds for sale. One may be sold already if the buyer is ok with a 48rg and not a 36rg.

$80 which includes shipping or maybe a kick ass trade.

Btw, I rolled some sticks the other night and stuck them in the crooks mold over night. Haven't smoked in yet but they look kick ass. Anyone else make crooks? I originally thought you could make culebras with the mold but was set on the right path. How does one make a culebra? Is there a mold for that?
