Oh, the FREE SEEDS? That was something that was offered around 2013 and has since expired. You had to have around 200 posts so you wouldn't have qualified anyway. One of the members here sells seed, he's a great guy to do business with and the seed are damn cheap: Northwood Seeds Retail

Welcome to the forum.

these days just become a part of the community and people are generally happy to share, but typically its the more esoteric strains. asking someone to send you something that is available from at least 5 or 10 reputable retailers for hardly any money is kinda weak. you didn't say what you wanted to grow for, just that you wanted seed, pick a strain at random from the above link and get your feet wet next year. the following year you'll have a much greater understanding of what you want to grow and what your limitations will be, then you'll have a better idea of what you are looking for.

alternatively to save time, http://wholeleaftobacco.com/ sells many of the strains we grow, sample some aged product to get an understanding of what you are looking for and order seeds for the tobacco you know you will like. best of luck growing.

No such thing as FREE, especially with tobacco. Much effort goes into growing a plant to maturity and collecting seeds to share.

Appreciative members often SHARE their hard earned seeds with each other, with nothing asked in return.

I agree with all the above ... compared to the work you will have to put in to raise the plants and cure the leaves ... a few dollars spent on a packet of seeds from a reputable company is nothing. I sometimes send my seeds around the world to people who want a specific unusual strain I have and is commercially unavailable - but I think if any of us just sent out seeds to whoever asked ... we'd bankrupt ourselves in the postage costs!

As for sending plants ... it's the end of October!! You couldn't put them in the ground for at least 6 months if you're in the Northern Hemisphere.

What kind of tobacco are you looking to grow? Cigarettes, cigars, pipe or chew? I'm sure if we knew more we could help you choose a suitable variety.

I personally would not straight out ask for seed but that's just me. Some members offered to send me seed when I first started so I'm paying it forward, seeds sent.
