I like to start early.
Them deep cell trays are lonely.
I guess I better clean up Jacobs, Mess first.
I just got my Sicar 300i home from being buried at the shop and also hooked Jacob with a new Grizzly 14 in bandsaw and a Disc, Belt sander also.
My buddy gave me a 2 Hp Grizzly Dust Collector he never used.
I'm thinking some Dark Air and Burly this yr. I have enough Flue cured.
Mabey one row of flue cured.

So ONLY a few hundred this year?....if you start them with Admire, that will be almost like taking the year off compared to normal. :)

Hey BT, How do you like those deep cell trays? Do you use a heat tray under them?
I like the deep cells since I start early. Lots more root room.
I really dident noticed any difference with the heat mats under them.
I will use them again since I have them.

I was gonna get me some Baccto Soil today. But I got the old Infinity full of Honduras heart pine.
I knew I had some left but the wife stole it.
I guess I will try again tomorrow. I did order some of that macho stuff off eBay.

No aphids is nice. It seemed to reduce worms and other pests also, but not completely.

Anything that helps is awesome.
Jacob did a flying Swan Dive on me to to wake me up Christmas Morning.
He is only 130 pounds. But when you have 3 herniated discs in your lower back and 2 in the neck it will put a damper on things. A Pinched nerve in the neck sucks, I can barely paint.

I did get started tho. I got Eight 36 cell trays filled then ran out of soil.
it don't go far in these deep trays, 50 pounds for 8 trays of 36.
Enjoying the kids getting along together, and me doing nothing but having a few beers and Smokes watching them.:D
The Youngest knows better she is hanging out with mom.

BT, With those deep cells do you pack the soil into them or do you fill them more like a float tray by lightly tamping the soil?

It all depends how you do it.
My kids scoop it out of the bag into trays with a Quart container and have a quart of soil left from each bag.
I dumped it down the center of the trays and ended up with nine empty cells.
I got another bag today to finish.
I never thought about compaction of the soil.

I got out of the wood shop a little early and made my seed Selection.
No soccer field this yr.
12 trays @ 36 per tray 432 plants anticipated.
Two trays of each type.
Pa Red
Havana
Catterton
Harrow Velvet
Hickory Prior
White Stem Orinoco
Time to put way too many seeds into each cell:mad:
