Does flowering affect curability?

If not topping, and allowing the flowers to bloom causes energy to go into seed production rather than leaf growth, does that mean the leaves will have less nitrogen/protein in them and be more easily cured?

I'm going to take a guess here and say no ,otherwise the tobacco plantations would allow their entire field to go to seed. But, I'll keep my eyes on this thread and see what everyone else (Bob) says .

I think that topping produced bigger leaves. And I didn't notice any difference between the time taken for the leaves from topped plants to plants with flowers to change colour when they were hanging on the wires

I didn't know that about the nicotine levels with topping and not topping thanks for that more information I shall store away
