That is live green tobacco sickness . Yes if you are in wet green tobacco , sweating all day long you can get sick . Dizzy and sick at your stomach , but I have never heard of anyone passing on to the other side from it .Heavy morning few or rain making tobacco wet and transfers the nicotine to you . You also have to realize that tobacco workers are in the hot sun or a barn working and sweat a lot .
With cured tobacco I have not heard of anyone getting sick from handling cured leaves .

I'm interested in trying my hand at growing, curing, and rolling my own cigars. Do I have to be concerned about nicotine exposure when rolling cigars? I only smoke cigars on occasion, and strong sticks can make me feel quite sick. Thoughts?

Ive had it happen many times while priming my leaves that I get the same feeling as if I had smoked a very potent cigar. A little nausea and a light headedness. After washing hands thoroughly after handling tobacco all day helps. Might consider wearing gloves.
