3 weeks after transplants.

The 2 "Paris Wraper" on the rigth fougth the harder battle: cats and snails. (yeah, it's a black nightshade now. The righ rear plant was cut at the base by cats, I think.) Curiously, I found snails all over the mini-garden even running on the left side, but only Paris seem "Connaisseur's choice".

I will check the mountain plants next week.

They are all very differents varieties, it's funny.

If you can get the transplants to survive a short time longer, snail and cricket and earwig damage will become minimal.

Speaking of crickets or grasshopers:

Pseudophyllanax imperialis

A young "coconuts Grasshopper": it's a small juvenille. (adults can reach 6-8 inches long. This one was like 4-5 inchs. A Terminator for palms and coconuts leaves. (and banana leaves too)). Hope they don't like tobaccos. Found on the tree next of roof of da mountain house, when cleaning gutters.

For what I know, it's an endemic species. And the biggest insect of the Island.

The Paris Wrapper are very impressive growers!

Little Dutch seem to do fine too.

The Cuba-4 seem to grow slowly? But unlike other plants, absolutely don't attract any snail or insect.

The 2 little cubas attracted cats, snail, insects and can't grow at all. They have gained pots for trying to save theses.

- Unfortunately, I must go to France for 3-6 mounths in a hurry (work), and rent my appartment. So I have buy 8 pots and gifted the 8 nouméa plants to the moutain garden too ^^

No pics, but a small story.

For christmas, my mountain friend has some members of his family comming home.

One is a pipe smoker, who has immediately recognised tobacco plants! ^^

They have picked some yellowing and drying leaves, and he will try it in his pipe ^^

She has gifted them some of the plants in pots too, his father-in-law is very happy ^^
