Wife and I went on a thrift store adventure today. Went to one we've never been to . Took my sweet time going down each aisle. Found a couple useful items in the home goods section for the tobacco processing. First up is a stainless steel 10 cup straight sided gasketed lid container I'm assuming the original purpose was for containing flour or sugar , $0.99 .
Next and probably my best find so far is a complete 4 qt pressure cooker- bottom with lid ,gasket and the weight for $6.99. Seems most times I find these they are missing some part or another ,so I pass on them. This one the gasket seals very well. I'll try to use it with the short canning jar method of making cavendish.
So now I will abandon the 2 gallon paint bucket for the 10 cup stainless steel container and try to design some sort of armature that I can tighten down to compress the other batch of perique and see how that turns out.
