VAT
most european countries, if not all, charge 15-20% VAT (value added tax) and it's usually included in the posted retail price for sale
but export sales are exempt from VAT. I just purchased a shredder priced at 199 euro (retail), but when i asked the vendor (tobaccoandmachines.com) if he deducts VAT on export sales, he
responded he did - it ended up, with UPS Express shipping to run 7 euros over his retail price. Right now the euro and the US dollar are on near parity, ie the dollar is strong and the euro is extremely weak
