I'm partial to the criollo, vuelta abajo, then there are massive Connecticut broadleaf and Pennsylvania varieties.
The problem with growing is having too much diversity, it makes everything from starting seed to processing in the end so much more difficult. If you are able to, on the first grow try to limit it to a manageable amount of strains.
Moisten seed starting mix in a container with a lid, sprinkle seeds evenly across the surface. Close it up and wait. About a week or 2 will see them sprouting. Don't sprinkle too many seeds or transferring them to cells can be difficult.
