I love the colors on these last two posts. And the drop shadow effect on the last one perfectly matches the period style of the band.

For those of us not great with computers, is there an easy way to import some of these and print at home? Just assuming none are copyright protected.

Here is the source of the pics I've posted. You should be able to find it more self explanatory. If you have trouble importing say so and, we'll get it done.

I want anyone to feel free to use any of my post content to there desire.
as far as copyrights, as long as you are not making money off it you need not worry.

These are photos of two cigar bands from which I've removed the identifying text. The first is from a Cuba Aliados cigar. The second is from a Montecristo.

The solid colors in the photo were so dappled by texture reflections that I found it difficult to be tidy.

Using PhotoShop or any other graphics application, desired text can be created and curved to fit specific areas of the bands.

Ok. I'm guessing one alternative would be to use a custom rubber stamp with "embossing ink" and heat-activiated "embossing powder." I've done various craft projects with it over the years and it can look really great.

I'd like to learn more about that!

It is super easy to do. You apply the ink with a stamp like any other ink. Embossing ink remains tacky for a while, so you can sprinkle on the embossing power. Once the power sticks to the ink, you shake the excess off. You can use a heat gun or iron to apply just enough heat to melt the powder. Here's a random example from the web:

I believe this is often referred to as "heat embossing." There are plenty of videos on the web.
