Today is hot day - low 80's. I expected tobacco to love it, but the leaves are drooping. Is this a function of heat or dehydration?!

Leaf drooping during the daylight hours on a hot day is normal. As soon as the sun sets, they should raise their hands in prayer.

They to me look ready I haven't grown tobacco though but tomato plants starting them inside. I am not sure what the weather forecast has been but it would not hurt to take the watering can around.

Wilting leaf in the morning before it gets hot requires water I hear. I've never had to water it before if the ground was prepared properly.

Here's your solution. Take a tablet of aspirin, crush it. Throw away the coating. Dissolve the aspirin in 1gallon of water. Fill a clean spray bottle, and spray all of your tobacco plants. You will have plenty of leftover solution. It's been my experience that in a week, your plants will be completely drought resistant.

I was about to suggest that the aspirin/drought resistance association might be bunk, but I notice that I already did that in the cited thread.
