That's good to know. Thank you for posting that. It clarifies the history a bit. That same quote appears in several places on the web and it gives a bit of a false impression.

And I agree. His cigars are excellent. I hope to be enjoying them for years to come.
There’s a lot of videos on YouTube and random cigar sites with him talking. They guy knows a ton and he definitely gives respect to those who came before him. He’s a class act all the way

The entire interview is good, but starting at about 24:45 he talks about the Havana Seed CT 142. The history seems a bit off, but his description of 142 as a variety among numbered Havana varieties indicates he was working with 142 as a pre-existing variety. That means the quote I posted is erroneous - either he misspoke (not likely), or some bonehead editor spliced things together and it came out wrong. Or it could mean when he said that the Havana 142 was the culmination of his efforts, he was speaking in shorthand about the cigar itself.

Now that it's all said and done...anyone here try using 142 as a wrapper?
