Plants are about 2 ft high - normal for spuds . . .

I suspect deer. They've nibbled a few other items until the wife added some irish spring soap on stakes .

First time I've seen this on spuds in over 70 years!

A well handled 7x64 Brenneke can take care of the nicotine-addicted critters... you won't smoke anything, but can have venison on the table instead lol

Potato greens (as well as green potatoes) contain solanine, which is a poison (like nicotine).

Deer resistant vegetables in the nightshade family include tomatoes and tomatillos, potatoes, eggplant, and some peppers.

I'll bet that your deer can't read.

And thank you, sir Robert, for cleaning up the post!

And near 2 years ago I got a 1200 fps .177 because my 500 fps didn't faze the buggers.

They haven't been within range in daylight since the day I brought it home.

And pier - the irish spring soap seems to work only for deer and groundhogs. Quite a penetrating aroma.

Thanks for that information Jack, I have never thinking about soap against deer. I will google at that soap to find out if I can do something that keep them away..
