Announcing the world's ugliest tobacco pipe.

This sustainably produced wonder is manufactured from the very bottom of a corn stalk. It retains all the buttress roots. The shank is made from telescoping bamboo, with a Vulcanite bit. A 50:50 mixture of plaster of Paris and fine sand lines the tobacco chamber.

Seriously, I discovered that I had to paint the tip of each root with clear nail polish. Otherwise, little piles of white dust begin to appear on the table surface, beneath each root tip. It seems that some sort of tiny weevil (probably the same one that gets into flour or dried grits, etc.) will take up residence in every single root tip.

So, not only is this the world's ugliest tobacco pipe, it's also the world's most annoying tobacco pipe. [Confession: Although this pipe does indeed smoke, it is horrid to hold and use and rest. I salvaged the stem bamboo pieces, and tossed the bowl. It is now extinct.]
