Got a spam today from Davidus cigar stores, advertising an Escurio coming soon, described like so:

Wrapper: Ecuador Habano

Binder: Brazil Cubra

Filler: Brazil Cubra, Brazil Mata Fina, Dominican Republic San Vincente,
Dominican Republic Hybrid Olor/Piloto, Dominican Republic Piloto

Got some familiar leaves in there... mata, piloto, san vincente. Got some mysterious cubra. What's the experts think of this combo?

I've been meaning to visit one of their lounges. Just nunna my tuits have gotten round.

I did a tasting for a radio show on the project 805's...my take was that they quickly should have moved to project 806. YMMV but IMO these were horrible.

I know this is an old thread but let me explain what Cubra is. This is a seedline only grown by Fumex, a dark air cured tobacco grower in Cruz das Almas, Bahia. The seed is originally a Cuban seed, crossed against some other variety (I think in Central America), but crossed back against the Cuban seed to make sure it is dominant in its characteristics. Cubra has now been grown in Brazil for over ten years and has adapted to its local climate, and is very much its own variety.
