• Dear Guest,

We've been using a forum format called vBulletin for over seven years and the program is no longer being developed, so that means no more updates or security patches. vBulletin has never been compatible with search engine optimization and it does not support the multitude of various devices most people use to access the internet, so it's time to say goodbye to vBulletin.

For these reasons we have moved our forum to a new format that will support and encourage growth for the next generation of grower and DIY tobacco users.

So please post any issues you're having with using the new site.

I use equal parts of tobacco and molasses, generally no glycerin. Then I add lemon juice to thin it, about half the weight of tobacco. I don't heat mine, I just leave it covered in a warm place for a few days. It makes a very plain Shisha.

So in parts, that would be

2 Parts Tobacco
2 Parts Molasses
1 Part Lemon juice

Sometimes I add some dried mint flakes and mix with the tobacco before I add the goo. You could cut back on the lemon juice and add flavors and glycerin, thin enough that it doesn't make a lump sitting in the bowl.

Is there a "thickness"/consistency I should be trying for?

After smoking, i guess it is normal to have "charcoal" left in the bowl instead of ash, since it is not directly burning?

Sorry for the newbie questions.

Sorry for the newbie questions.

Charred is right, a little bit of ash gets pulled in the holes giving it a dusting. You'll know it if you get it too hot, it will taste for crud. The "right" consistency is when you can fluff it up in the bowl to allow air flow. If it's too wet, the extra goo just drips out the bottom of the bowl.

We're all newb's at some point, it's half the fun.

The "Peppermint Pattie" shisha I made is the only one my wife will smoke. The Chocolate and peppermint go well together. When they go on sale after the holidays, I'll pick up some of the candy flavors.
