Years ago the family was loading up for a picnic. We had a couple of the old fashioned metal Coke coolers. The kind with latches. As it was going to be a long ride on a hot day I put the ice cream, meat and a water melon along with dry ice in one of the coolers. The picnic was a success. The meat got grilled, The kids enjoyed the ice cream and all was well. To be truthful I did notice the cooler "hissed" a bit now and then but we were having a great family time and I paid it no mind. Then it was the end of the day and time for watermelon. The cooler really popped when I undid the latch but OH Well, the melon was cold. When we cut into it it fizzed. Honest to God fizzed. I have no idea why it didn't blow up but it didn't.

Bottom line -- You ain't lived till you've eaten fresh, carbonated watermelon.

Farmers started to harvest watermelons a month ago here in southern regions, actually there's already no watermelon production in northern regions. I think watermelon is available all year. I saw watermelons in markets all along the winter, they were imported from Southern American countries. I bought my first watermelon on April which was said to be imported from Iran.
